PORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE
CJ Architects led the complex and comprehensive Historic District Commission design approval process for this multi-phase development in the heart of historic downtown Portsmouth. The focal point of the project was the restoration of the historic 1916 army navy structure, demolition of the antiquated gym addition, and constructing two new buildings on an adjacent site. CJ Architect’s expertise and broad experience in historic design was used to create architectural details complimentary to the historic context and generous public areas were included to engage the surrounding streetscape.
