PORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE
A renovation and addition to the vacant, but historically important, Frank Jones Brewing Company building to extend the vitality of the Portsmouth’s downtown commercial district. Careful restoration of the existing building and sensitivity to calibrating appropriate mass and scale to neighboring historic structures are the hallmark of this project. Changes in materials and expression were used to create a break between the old and the new and a continuation of the urban landscape. CJ Architects led the successful effort to receive Historic District Commission and Planning Board approval.
